According to the article, 3 out of every 100,000 human related bird deaths are caused by wind turbines. Many more birds fall victim to poisonous pesticide spraying, it seems that bird advocacy groups should be focusing their efforts on this issue.

I think there are also many incidents of bird deaths from airplane collisions. I think few are reported because it is rare that they cause enough damage to the plane to make the news. However, we certainly aren't going to stop using airplanes.
